Artificial Intelligence Training Begins at Apple Developer Academy
New Core Curriculum Will Benefit All Students and Graduates
With an announcement made today, Apple announced that it will provide training to all students and mentors at the Apple Developer Academy on using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and tools. Graduates of the academy will also be able to benefit from this training opportunity. The new core curriculum will be offered to thousands of students and graduates at 18 Developer Academies in Brazil, Indonesia, Italy, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and the United States. This initiative aims to create more opportunities for developers, designers and entrepreneurs looking to step into the growing iOS app economy and beyond.
A New Layer to Basic Skills: Artificial Intelligence
A specially prepared curriculum on AI is included in the academy’s program as a core competency. It aims to expand other important skills offered globally, such as coding, professional skills, design and marketing. This new curriculum aims to help students learn important skills to contribute to local businesses and communities. The Apple Developer Academy curriculum also incorporates Apple’s values by encouraging students to design inclusively and make a positive impact on the world.
A Universal Language from Apple: Coding
“At Apple, we view coding as a universal language and believe in empowering developers, creators, and entrepreneurs with the tools and technologies that enable them to create great experiences,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “With the introduction of curriculum devoted to artificial intelligence and other new technologies, we are excited to see what students will share with their communities and the world.”
Advanced Training and Tools
Starting this fall, every Apple Developer Academy student will benefit from a tailored curriculum on building, training, and deploying machine learning models on Apple devices. Courses cover the fundamentals of AI technologies and frameworks; It will include guidance on how to build and train Core ML and AI models from scratch, with the ability to deliver fast performance on Apple devices. Students will have the opportunity to learn from guided curricula and project-based assignments with the help of hundreds of mentors and more than 12,000 academy graduates worldwide.
New Technologies Introduced at WWDC24
Thanks to new Apple technologies and APIs introduced at WWDC24, students will have access to more tools that will allow them to develop extraordinary projects and applications. This includes Xcode 16, which sets a new standard for developer productivity. These features and performance improvements include Swift Assist, which allows students to explore new frameworks and try new ideas. Additionally, Swift 6 introduces new capabilities aimed at improving code clarity and making concurrent programming easier.
Apple at Every Stage of the Student Journey
Apple is with students at every stage of their journey; Whether they’re exploring the fundamentals of app development in Apple’s global Foundation program, honing their skills at the Apple Developer Academy, or taking their apps to the next level. With this new AI training, Apple continues to inspire and support the developers and creators of the future.
